How Treasury Management Services Helped EV Auto
This Utah EV-specific car dealership and service center is leveraging Zions Bank’s remote deposit and wire transfer services to streamline operations and increase efficiency.

As more electric vehicles hit the market with lower prices, improved batteries and greater range, consumer interest is growing. The Edison Electric Institute reports there were 4.5 million electric vehicles in the U.S. in 2023 and projects 78.5 million by 2035.
To help Utah customers take advantage of this growth in electric vehicles, serial entrepreneur Alex Lawrence founded EV Auto to provide a customer-friendly dealership and service center experience specifically for used electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids.
EV Auto boasts a near 5-star rating on Google and has two locations in Bountiful and Lehi, with a third location opening outside of Utah that will be announced soon. EV Auto also operates EV Service, a dedicated EV service operation.
Lawrence says some of their success is due in part to creating business efficiencies that include strong financial management, which hit a few speed bumps in the early days of his company.
“Before I started to work with Zions Bank, we had a time-consuming process for depositing checks and making wire transfers,” says Lawrence. “We had to visit a physical bank branch to deposit each check and send wires. The whole thing was so manual and outdated and could only be done during the weekday and during business hours.”
After he switched to Zions Bank, his relationship manager introduced him to the bank’s Treasury Management solutions, including Remote Deposit Capture and Wire Transfer Services. These financial business services allow his team to deposit checks and initiate wire transfers from the convenience of their offices at any time, day or night.
“My team saves probably eight hours a month by using Zions Bank’s Treasury products,” says Lawrence. “When you’re scaling a business, every hour counts.”
EV Auto and Service uses some of this time to focus on giving customers an unusually great buying experience. At EV Auto, from start to finish, clients work with just one person, providing a seamless and personalized process that isn’t full of fees, surprises and pressure. With EV Service, a dedicated EV and plug-in hybrid service center, customers can choose from mobile repair by a Cybertruck and trailer or visit their fixed service location in Lehi.
Lawrence says this approach is unusual for a car dealership and service operation, but he believes it’s important to help customers have fun buying a car and make it easy to get service work done.
“Our company’s North Star is to provide the best buying experience for our customers. Not the best car buying or service experience, the best buying experience they have ever had for any product or service. Period.” says Lawrence. “I love that Zions Bank shares my philosophy, which is why I appreciate my relationship with my Zions banker. He feels like a member of my own team.”
