What lessons did you learn from your business growing so quickly?

“I believe Boise Juice Company grew quickly because of the investments we’ve made in our team, especially young employees who are just starting their careers. Many of them have been with us for years, and I’m proud to say we’ve built an environment where they feel appreciated, supported, and empowered to grow.”

“I still work alongside our crew and play an active role in day-to-day operations. I make it a point to know my team personally, asking about their days, celebrating their growth and advancement, and creating space for open feedback. Even with 85 to 90 employees, I strive to maintain that connection.”

What guidance do you have for other small business owners?

“Lead with a heart of service. Whatever your business provides, make sure it’s something you genuinely care about and believe in. People can feel when your heart is in it — whether it’s through the product, the experience or the way you show up for your community. It’s easy to get caught up in growth goals and timelines, but things rarely go exactly as planned. Be patient and remember what inspired you to start in the first place.”
